This was one of my favorite places that we saw on my trip to South Africa in 2006. It's a place called the "Potholes" outside of Johannesburg. It was anabsolutely breathtaking spot.

Taken while standing at Cape Hope – the southern most point of South Africa (not far from Cape Town). I love the sight and sound of waves crashing on the rocks.

We watched this giraffe at the watering hole from the deck of our camp in Balule, South Africa. We waited a day and a half for the giraffes to come to the hole.

The inn where we stayed in Johannesburg, South Africa had an amazing garden. This was just one of the beautiful flowers they had growing there. Don't forget to look down when taking pictures!

Look up; look way up! While traveling from Johannesburg, South Africa to the "Potholes", we stopped at the side of the road. I walked into the forest, stopped, listened and looked up.

This beautiful sunrise was taken from the porch of the farmhouse we stayed at in Ladybrand, South Africa. The calm after the storm – literally. There was a huge thunderstorm overnight that knocked out the power.

While driving between Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah, I had my Dad stop the car by the side of the road. I climbed down the embankment of the river to get this shot.

Taken at Simon’s Town outside Cape Town, South Africa. There was only one little ray of sunshine and this penguin waddled over to it; turned to his side and turned his cheek to the sun.

Taken while standing in the mountains of the Drakensburg in South Africa. This area had a "Sound of Music" quality to it. You could almost see Maria and the children running through the fields. Once again, you could see for miles.
